On December 21, 2021, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and AMSCO formalized a partnership that will enable them to together contribute to the growth, development, and sustainability of the African Continent.
The UNDP works in 170 countries and territories including Sub-Saharan Africa countries, to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. The UNDP helps countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and to build resilience to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. AMSCO is a pan African organization with 32 years on the deck experience in providing integrated human capital and development solutions, to achieve sustainable socioeconomic growth for enterprises, mainly SMEs which constitute the backbone of Sub-Saharan Africa economies, communities and Africa at large.
With a mandate to transforming Africa and to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, the UNDP and AMSCO entered into a partnership, reflected in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by both organizations on December 21, 2021, during a virtual ceremony that brought together, participants from South Africa, Kenya and Cameroon.
The two partners will mobilize resources dedicated to: SMEs Business Capacity Building; Youth & Women Empowerment; Development Advisory Solutions; Enterprise Development Programmes; Human Resource Advisory; Recruitment and HR Consulting and Impact Advisory.
In his partnership statement, Dr Ayodele Odusola, Resident Representative of UNDP in South Africa, said: “building skills, accelerating youth and women empowerment, promoting SMEs, are some of the key success factors, of sustainable development of African economies, and the partnership between UNDP and
AMSCO is a reflection of this agenda”.
Mr. Yves Alain Epangue, CEO of AMSCO, said “this win-win partnership between the UNDP and AMSCO, is an opportunity to fulfil the unique needs of Africa despite the challenges compounded by the ongoing global pandemic crisis”.
The signing of the MoU between the UNDP and AMSCO marks another milestone for the longstanding collaboration between both organizations, and the commitment to contribute to growing Africa.
