We help the financial sector to overcome obstacles like lack of skilled labour, corporate governance and tight risk control, giving SMEs access to finance. We work closely with banks in sub-Saharan Africa to further improve access to finance for SMEs. We also partner with Development Finance Institutions to empower employees and promote female-led enterprises.

We work closely with the insurance sector to help them support enterprises by protecting their assets and investments, build capital and become sustainable. We also aid microfinance companies, supporting them to better serve micro, small and medium enterprises. To assist micro enterprises that cannot meet the requirements for bank loans, we partner with foundations, social and philanthropic investors to balance both the human and financial capital needs of the enterprises.

One of Africa’s fastest growing sectors, Agriculture & Forestry has the potential to significantly alleviate poverty on the continent. Fostering partnerships, we are able to link agribusiness enterprises to mobile operators to monitor market development and pricing. We work closely with agriculture, agribusiness and forestry organisations to improve organisational productivity, promote food security, develop value chains and improve livelihoods. We also team with partners to improve access to finance for SMEs, and inputs such as seeds, fertilizers and machinery.

A lack of skills, limited access to equipment and bad patient care are the challenges standing in the way of quality healthcare on the African continent. We aim to address those challenges to supply quality and affordable healthcare to the people of Africa.

To achieve that we help hospitals, clinics and radiology service providers implement efficient operating systems and management processes. With our support, health institutions such as pharmaceuticals have moved to patient-centric practices to promote the wellbeing of society.

Access to energy is key for Africa to become globally competitive. It is therefore imperative to meet the growing demand for electricity, oil, gas and other energy sources.

AMSCO welcomes partnerships in the oil and gas sector to develop SME value chains that serve organisations better.

We also support energy initiatives that lead to sustainable business environments. Interventions cut across various activities including renewable energy, hand-held solar energy, oil and gas, and waste to energy.

As Africa grows, so does the need for local produc- tion and distribution of food and beverages. AMSCO works with companies in the FMCG sector who specialise in the conceptualisation, making and distribution of food.

We also support enterprises in the wholesale, retail, and food and beverage sectors through sales training, quality assurance and customer service programmes. Those businesses are then able to realise their full potential by investing in the development of their human capital.

Through human capital support to companies within the ICT sector we’re able to enhance economic and social development. AMSCO is strategically aligned with both the public and private sectors to introduce, implement and maintain telecommunications networks. We are also able to provide customised training such as safety and heights, technical support and expert support to ensure fully integrated and streamlined communication networks that are cutting-edge and globally competitive.

African SMEs rely heavily on transport systems to ensure smooth operations from logistics to maintenance and safekeeping of goods. AMSCO recognises this need and supports companies that provide transportation of goods and warehousing. This includes, but is not limited to passengers and cargo, warehousing and storage for goods plus supported activities related to modes of transportation. We design programmes that assist in modernising the sector to ensure efficiency and transparency in an increasingly complex value chain. Our programmes are designed with strict adherence to local transport and warehousing regulations.
